The Individual
Education is the great engine of personal development. It is through education that the daughter of a peasant can become a doctor, that the son of a mineworker can become the head of the mine, that a child of farm workers can become the president of a great nation. It is what we make out of what we have, not what we are given, that separates one person from another. (Nelson Mandela)
The School
Educating all of our children must be one of our most urgent priorities. We all know that education, more than anything else, improves our chances of building better lives. (Nelson Mandela) A teacher sets the tone in the classroom, build a warm environment, mentor and nurture the individual, become role model, as they guide and impact knowledge. Teachers are best known for the role of educating the individuals that are placed in their care.
The Community
Our children are the rock on which our future will be built, our greatest asset as a nation. They will be the leaders of our country, the creators of our national wealth, those who care for and protect our people. (Nelson Mandela) “It takes a village to raise a child”, an African proverb that means an entire community must interact with children to enable them experience love and grow in a safe space.
